Short restoration history:

It was a pan off restoration, which took about 3 years to complete. The chassis, gearbox and crankcase belong to the original '71. The body comes from a donor '72 model (with a bigger rear window). The reason for that is that the guy who painted the original body dropped it in his shop (!!!), bending it beyond repair. So we had to get another 1302 to get a new body.As far as the car is concerned, I went for the German Look. Shaved trim, indicators moved to front bumper, 1776cc engine based on the original crankcase (engine no AB188694), dual Weber 40s, adjustable Spax struts, Porsche Cup 1 Rims, Autometer RPM meter, Autometer oil pressure gauge, Autometer oil temp meter, voltage meter, Sparco Sports seats.

An aircooled beetle does not leak oil; it only marks
its territory.
